The brave hearted
Veiled away in the pitch black alleyway,
Children scattered across the blood-filled fields,
Grass painted with the memories of forgotten soldiers.
Families ripped apart by unfortunate deaths,
But never forgetting the brave hearted soldier that once stood.
Everyone who died with the honour of protecting our country,
Should sleep in piece finally free of the pain filled thoughts of war.
Nothing left but sadness and fake smiles.
Their final breath taken in as though it was pure gold
Because they are at long last allowed to be free.
They’ve been given the glory that they always deserved.
As they accept their fate,
They drift away into the glorious havens above.
