No Man’s Land
The battle field is a never-ending nightmare
Looking through the melancholic mist
Soldiers saw barbed wire spiralling in every direction
The stench of fear lingered in the air
Howe could they sleep at night?
Screams of agony were heard in the distance
Rats raced throughout the trenches
War is an everlasting fight
All the men could see was darkness
Unable to see the bullets, which pierced the air, like silent assassins
Killing whoever crossed their path
Causing families to feel wretchedness
So many men ventured to war
Death stole their innocent lives
Those who went to no man’s land
Never returned
