Fear

Fear lingered in the muddied trenches,
The soldiers trying to hide from the stenches.
The stenches of what? You may ask.
The stenches of the war, filled with hatred and death.
Why must people be like this?
Full of ambition that drives our bloodthirst?
To claim power.
Isn’t it sour?
The fallen ones had to suffer.
They had to loose their lives.
Because of this… hatred.

Fear lingered across the war-torn land,
coated in the blood of the fallen ones.
The stench of death in the air,
the landscape is so bare.
The malevolence of some people,
Has caused such war,
Has caused many people to die.

And in the end, some people came back to their loved ones,
Some people left dead.
This war has taught us many things though,
To treasure what we have, because in the end, those things can be gone in the blink of an eye.
