We Salute You
4 years of war,
on no mans land.
Bravery was key in this treacherous fight.
Fighting for survival,
the young men,
dropping like flies,
each on dying a murderer.
You had to be alert,
aware, and on the ball,
if you weren’t you would die.
Dead bodies laying on the playing field,
scattered everywhere.
Determined eyes charging forward,
but the enemy lives on.
Explosion banging and booming,
all around you.
The soldiers handling the,
guns like proper men.
Grab the gas masks,
raging lungs and,
bloody hearts.
Long live the soldiers that,
changed the world we,
live in today.
We salute you.
