A daughter’s view

I ve never quite told you how much I care
There were times when I suffered when life seemed hard
Times when I was a hopeless child not knowing righ from wrong
These times I was never alone, you were always holding my hand
Many times I fell, , and didnt know what to do
Many times I stumbled others walked away you helped me
When I laughed you laughed
Summer days we would sit and talk
As I think of our time together I wished I’d know what was to come
As you step on the train off to war tears flow, I need someone to hold my hand be safe my father
Suffering, hopelessness,falling , all these you’ve felt
Now home injured you have changed I think back I remember you
War has taken part of you but I am here to help you through
