Millions died and lived to protect,
Sorrowful and in mourning
But brave with honour in their hearts.

Shouts of proud and noble voice,
Concealed by blaring guns,
Cries of mournful wives and children
Drowned out by death and destruction.

For those who fought and fell
Come songs and poems of praise
From us people now in modern time
