an impact of war

I look back; I see the endless chaos and fury
And my comrades falling behind me
I can see the explosions disappear in to clouds
The smoke is as black as coal and scents the air with gunpowder

Every day I see the blood stain on the mud and sandbags
And the innocent men I have to kill
Purely because they support a different country
I feel there pain when I must kill

I just so pull through the day
So that I may live another day
Till one day I can return home a hero
And be at peace in my own skin
