Fellowship of war
Lay in silence the day had come,
blood and mood started the game.
Haunted words started the flames,
like a devil sick of sin.
Sandbags layed on the sludgy ground,
men marched asleep unaware of the barbwire as they were imprisoned.
Grenades thrown in the trench,
people die in blood in stench.
Machine guns armed ready to fire,
Gas! Gas! it’s all around me like we are coughing hags.
Two shots and dead, running away losing their boots sludge and slop.
Remember this day when tears drop and sorrow,
Remember all of the men who fought for our saviour.
Finally remember what they did during the war 100 years ago
