Green seas of gas swallowed the air,
Replacing soldiers lungs with gas.
Deprieving them of precious oxygen,
Men fall; choking and writhering.
On bloodied ground.
Their eyes pain-filled,
Looking up desperately,
Will haunt me.
Forever and always,
As I watched,
Til the very end.
