Hearts at War

Coughing, Choking, Dying, Drowning,
Blinding, killing

Bravery and death
Marching asleep in fear
lame, blind drunk with faitgue
Face to face, hand to hand
Allies against each other pretending to die

Fighting to survive
Painful and suffering death
The dead soliders lay unburied
Families waiting to see loved ones
Sitting, waiting for the horrible yellow telegram

Knock,knock,knock
The door is open
A uniformed man stands there
The yellow telegram is handed over
Tears start to fall off the face

Knowing they will never see their brave hearts again.
