Remembrance

The bang and crash of the guns was deafening
The soldiers were brave, as they stood defending
The ground they had taken the previous day
among colleagues and friends who were shot where they lay The battle field was a graveyard, covered in blood and mud A senseless exercise, but not for the good

The soldiers fought with valour and bravery
To save our country from the treat of slavery
We owe them a debt which cannot be paid
But to remember them, graves are laid
In cemeteries where we remember
All they did for us before eleventh of November
