Soldiers

The smoke filled the town filling up dark, black air
Sticks, bricks and metal was everywhere you looked all of the shelters what were here, but now had been bombed!
***
Cautiously zooming around was
Black, old, tatty plains
Soldiers’ bodies at every glance of place
Memories of families that no longer exist
Bring a tear to your face
***
Poppies started to fill the field day by day
As families’ come to pay respects and pray
The soggy, green, grass started to fill
With more memories from that day
***
