The Battle of Love

The Battle of Love
When I lie awake at night,
How I long for him to be by my side,
Whilst his unborn child sleeps silently within me,
My knight fights battles across the sea.

I long for her precious lips,
Yet I stand awake in this empty pit,
My troubled sore eyes weep tears of sorrow and grief,
Washing away the things they have seen.

If he never does not returns,
My kind heart will break and my eyes will burn,
But I will tell my children how brave he has been,
About the father whose heart does not beat.

If I never leave this battle field
Please Holy Father let her heart be healed
Tell her I gave her all the love I ever had
And I will always be the proudest dad.
