War was here,
On their feet, marching wherever they go,
Running for their lives, stumbling as they go,
Listening for any sign of life,
Shouting, yelling, screaming.

Fighting day and night,
The depressing silence was horrific,
Stumbling, falling, choking.

Life was hard,
The horrifying sound of guns being fired,
As loud as lions,
Exhausted, hungry, cold.

In the trenches no-one was safe,
Rats the size of cats,
Suffering, coughing, tired.

GAS! Masks on!
Quick, quick, quick!
The war was still going strong.

Animals fighting for food,
That was war,
Terrified soldiers hiding from their enemies.

One chance to keep their life,
Never giving up,
The ever going war has finally ended.
