The Unknown Soldier

Everyone knows you but no one knows your name,
You died without the glory and without the fame,
You deserve the respect the others are given,
But unidentified you stay beneath the poppy that’s risen.

How could you have been so noble and brave?
Left with memories that would haunt you to the grave,
Abandoned on the field as it gets colder,
But only to be known as the Unknown Soldier.

We promise to remember the things that you’ve done,
When you were stood standing brave with your gun,
Even if we don’t know your real name,
The Unknown Soldier still our hero to this day.
