The White Flag
Walking towards the front line, about to enter no-man’s land,
Over dead bodies we climb, trying to face what’s coming next.
Red floods of blood pass over Flander’s Field,
Lots of lives were taken, many men had fallen.
Danger lurks in every corner, nobody is safe.
Worried parents and families wait home for the soldiers’ arrival,
As they suffer defeat, the white flag was raised.
Remember the soldiers from this generation,
1914 -1918, lest we forget.
