The world of war

Poppies scatted across the field,
The letters for home are not yet sealed,
Booms and Bangs were all around,
While we were under the ground,
Murder and death screamed through mt ear,
With all the bangs i could hardly hear,
I just hope it will be over soon,
Thinking of you as i stare at the moon,
The war is almost over now,
In my head i hear the meow,
Of the cat we have at home,
But now i am all alone,
I hope this poem gets to you,
All this writing has turned my fingers blue.
