The World War!

The world is at war, as we kill men roar
Held up for the world to see
Every man ,expected to take a knee

Worried and upset, their family at home
all the men sat in the trenches alone
Open the door to freedom I wish,
as in stand here looking at my empty dish
Reaching for the gun
if only it was done
Let it be the end,
on the soldiers it doesn’t depend.
Death and destruction all around
friends have left never to be found.

Win or lose
sitting in the trench they wished they could choose.
As bodies lay in No Man’s Land
death himself, his arms expand
Robbed of home and all they had,
one hundred years on, we still remain sad.
