We remember the fallen
We remember those who were left
We remember the tears they shed
We remember as they readied to take their last paces,
We remember the fear struck on every ones faces,
The signal had been given,
Men charging from the barricade, stuck in a land where they don’t belong,
Injured where falling all around, until they slipped onto the ground.
Memories flash in front of their face until they can see heavens gates.
Many men walking into the light never to return, gone forever.
Yet at home the family await the letter that never comes,
Soon mourning for their loved one’s sake.
Because their beloved hero is gone forever.
Never again will his boy say DADDY, never!
We remember what they did, without their sacrifice how would we live?
Would life be different?
