WW1 Poem

You left behind your mothers and fathers,
Your brothers and sisters,
To fight for our countries freedom,
Today on 9th of November 2014,
We celebrate the 100 year anniversary,
For those who lost their lives for our country in the war,
You write to me when you can,
Then suddenly you never wrote to me for about 6 weeks,
I heard the phone ring,
I took the phone and placed it to my ear and I heard….
I’m sorry but your son was killed yesterday,
As he was taken to the front line to help defend our base,
I’m so sorry for your loss he will be truly missed,
Tears dripping down my face,
RIP all the soldiers in WW1,
