WWI Poem

The trenches deep in mud,
The boots tight on my feet,
The guns will never rest
Maybe it will stop,
The day the war will end.

Birds never sing here,
I don’t believe there are any alive,
Maybe one day they will come,
The day the war will end.

The dying soldiers lay still,
Maybe one day that will be me,
I’ll never stop thinking about it,
Until the day the war will end.
